Putting our faith into Action
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:35-36, 40, NIV)
At Founders Metropolitan Community Church, we take to heart very seriously Jesus’ message for us: “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me.” We strive to be the hands, feet and heart of Christ in this world and to that end we provide opportunities of outreach to help make a difference in the world around us (and even far away).
We have annual “drives” that include Toy Drives, Back Pack Drives, Change for Change and more. These benefit children in need locally as well as Las Memorias Hospice in Tijuana that we support (they serve families affected by HIV/AIDS). We host a weekly food bank as well as monthly brown bag lunches for those who are homeless in downtown Los Angeles. We provide a Feast of Love Thanksgiving Dinner as well as support Queer Youth events throughout the year. Check out how you can make a difference!
