Trans* Unity at Founders MCC

FMCC offers a welcoming and safe sanctuary in our every-day lives. As noted in the Los Angeles magazine (Pg 71, June 2019), Metropolitan Community Church of Los Angeles (MCC-LA) was the 1st gay church, founded in 1968 by Rev. Troy Perry. Rev. Troy also performed the 1st public same-sex marriages in 1968 and was the catalyst that started the first LGBT Pride parade in 1970. Now called Founders-MCC (FMCC), we have more than 200 congregations in 33 countries (LA Magazine, Pg 83). With its illustrious 56-year history, FMCC continues today as a progressive and inclusive church that supports all LGBTQ+ and gender-nonconforming (GNC) communities. Between Sunday services, you can visit our hospitality events on outdoor FMCC patio at 4607 Prospect Avenue, Los Feliz CA-90027 (just east of Vermont/Hollywood Blvd). Street parking can usually be found on side-streets like Rodney. In addition, look for FoundersMCC on Facebook and YouTube videos.

Trans*Unity group is an integral part of FMCC, supporting Trans/GNC identified individuals (and allies) looking for social and spiritual engagement. We can be contacted during Sunday services (English 10am; Spanish 1:30pm) or on zoom (www.foundersmcc.org).
Trans*Unity has many interactions with LGBT/GNC communities, most notable being events such as LA-Pride, Trans-Pride, Santa Monica Pride, Transgender Day of Visibility, Transgender Day of Remembrance, and more. On a monthly basis we organize outings that vary from beaches to parks to restaurants. In the fall of this our 15th year, we will present Christine Daniels Awards ($1000) to deserving LGBTQ+ and GNC college students. Application forms are available at our table after the 10:00am worship service, or can be downloaded from our Christine Daniels Awards page here.
