Trans* Ministry At Founders MCC

Founders MCC offers a welcoming and safe sanctuary in our every-day Trans/GNC lives. As noted in the Los Angeles magazine (pg 71 June 2019), the Metropolitan Community Church of Los Angeles (MCCLA) was launched as the first gay church. Founded in 1968 by Rev. Troy Perry, Rev. Troy also performed the first public same-sex marriages. The Los Angeles church is now called Founders-MCC (FMCC). With its illustrious 50-year history, FMCC continues today as a progressive and inclusive church that supports all LGBTQI and gender-nonconforming (GNC) communities (pg 83 LA magazine 2019). We can be contacted during on-line Sunday services at FoundersMCC.org (virtual English at 10am, Spanish at 1:30pm, and also YouTube). Note Founders’ campus events remain closed for while pandemic crisis persists.

Trans*Unity group is an integral part of FMCC, welcoming Trans/GNC identified individuals and supporters looking for social, educational and spiritual engagement. Trans*Unity has many interactions with the diverse LGBT/GNC communities at FMCC, most notable being annual LA-Pride, LA-Proud, and Trans-Pride events. In normal times we hosted social outings that varied from beaches to parks to restaurants. In the fall, we present the Christine Daniels Fellowships to deserving LGBT and GNC students, now in 11th year. Application forms deadline is August-2020.
