Naming Ceremony

Receiving our name(s) are highly significant times in our lives.

Most of us receive our name long before we come into this world, however, our parents may reveal it to family and friends at our baptism, christening or welcome home party.

When we reach adulthood, however, we may find that we want to take on a new name that reflects us more clearly. Sometimes we choose this as we enter a new chapter in our lives; other times it is when we transition outwardly in our gender.

If you would like to have a naming ceremony, for either an infant, or for yourself at another time in your life, do not hesitate to contact the Church Office at 323-669-3434, or email info@mccla.org.

You’ll get a brand-new name
straight from the mouth of God.
You’ll be a stunning crown in the palm of God’s hand,
a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God.
No more will anyone call you Rejected,
and your country will no more be called Ruined.
You’ll be called My Delight
   and your land be Mine,
Because God delights in you!

~ Isaiah 62:2-3 (The Message)
